Nothing that was above the norm. The room was ok, shower (no bath) was really good (powerfull). Food was ok and about the price you expect near to a busy city.
I always try to be constructive when writing these reviews, so nothing really too critical. 1) the price quoted went up by £3.50, but a quick e-mail to Booked.net sorted that. 2) the electronic key did not work, so had to go back to reception (with luggage in tow!) to get a "normal" key. 3) breakfast could do with starting at 7.00am not 7.30am (but if you went down at 7.15-7.20 you were normally ok). So overall an average overnight away on business.

Breakfast was good
The room was too noisy. The road noise was terrible. Needed ear plugs just to hear yourself think

We enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside and visiting the nearby racing track, where there was thrilling National Hunt racing. The kids loved the spacious rooms, and it was a delight to have family together in such a cute environment.
My kids wished for a kids' play area to burn off some energy.

Very friendly staff who were knew when to interact as opposed to being in your face. Escorted to room and made to feel part of the family and not impersonal like other hotels I have been to. Well laid out room very cosy. The breakfast was freshly cooked and presented well. The staff again knew when to visit the table and always had a smile on their faces they too were enjoying the experience. I just could not find fault with this hotel (not that I was looking) I would recommend this hotel and if I am ever that way again on business would make it my first choice!

The rooms where fantastic! The carvery was very tasty! And the breakfast was really good as well!
When I arrived after a long trip with my 80 yr old mum and 3 yr old son in tow. The lady on reception told me to wait a minute. While she messed around with the computer. ( There were no other customers?) The place was empty. When she finally asked me what I wanted she told me that she had no details of my booking? My heart was in my mouth as I produced my booking form that I had printed from the net. She examined this and the computer and declared! "No Nothing for you?" I asked how this could be as I did have a booking number? She then checked a manual file and found my booking there. She explained that it had not come through on email. But I failed to see how this was a good explanation for putting me and my mother through the aniexty of not knowing if you have a hotel room booked or available for over 30 minutes? This alone made this a very bad experience. The reason that anyone books in advance is to avoid dissapointment and ensure you know that you have a room in which to stay? The lady in question, subsequently seemed very friendly. However, I noted that she did appear very overworked? She was a manager but she was there alone with one other manger. She checked me in. She served dinner and bar. She was also the one who anwsered the phone for room service? She bought the tea, I asked for. While telling me that she was indeed very busy? She served the breakfast and checked me out ? I eventually felt very sorry for the staff there and spoke to them about this. The owners of the hotel seemed to expect far too much from too little paid staff. Its not the managers that are at fault here? They deserve a medal!

Staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. Food was good and room very clean. Location good for stopover on journey to Cornwall.
The room was too warm at night and windows could not be opened due to location close to motorway.
